Remembrance

11th November 2019

We would like to thank everyone who joined us for our Remembrance collective worship both on Holy Island and in Lowick on Monday this week.  Despite the bitter weather, we thought that it went very well and the children read their prayers beautifully.  We had made two sets of remembrance rocks (which spell out ‘We Will Remember’) and set them out in Lowick and on Holy Island.  Niall Cartlidge read the names of the fallen from the Lowick War Memorial, which worked powerfully to bring to mind the reason why we were there.   Sarah Hills, the Vicar, joined Mrs Stiansen and the girls on Holy Island for their walk up to the war memorial.

The children were keen to keep the two minutes silence and we were very proud of how they conducted themselves throughout.  Our thanks to Margaret too for delicious red velvet cupcakes and welcome hot drinks when we came back to school.
