Northumbria Day 2022

We had a fantastic experience on Northumbria Day this Wednesday.  The children had a go at deciphering Northumbrian dialect in poetry, found out about Northumbrian tartan and did some weaving of their own to make place mats.

We were very fortunate to welcome Susie Cochrane, Anthony and Heather into school to treat the children to some traditional Northumbrian music and songs – including the Northumbrian pipes.  We had a go at some traditional dances too.  All in all, we had a very cultural day!
