Harvest Festival on Holy Island

We traditionally have our Harvest festival service on Holy Island and this year it was more poignant because we were saying goodbye to Rev Sam Quilty.  She has supported us and the school for many, many years and we will miss her very much. The children had each decorated a heart for her to take with her to her new job in Wales.

We were also overwhelmed with how generous everyone has been with their harvest donations - these will go to our local food banks and we are very grateful for your help.  The children were brilliant in the service, reading prayers, singing songs and nursery also did a special performance.  We have to mention Alex and Charlotte who acted out the good deeds of St Francis towards a leper with great aplomb.

Afterwards, the children had lunch, the Early Years children had their Monday afternoon forest school on the grounds of Holy Island school.  Meanwhile, the older children went to the Gertrude Jekyll garden near Lindisfarne Castle to investigate seed heads.
