Remembrance

8th November 2024
The school always marks Remembrance and this year was no different.  The children had been making their own poppies in woodwork and they also decorated poppies for our school 'wreath' as well as writing special prayers for Remembrance.  We had our collective worship at the war memorial in Lowick this morning.  The children sang a song they had learned specially and some of the children were confident to read out their prayers.  We were pleased to be joined by some of our grown ups and the community who came back to school for a hot drink and poppy biscuits afterwards.  Our particular thanks to Rev Charlotte for leading the prayers and to Niall Cartlidge for reading the names from the monument.

We were very impressed with how the children conducted themselves, including during the 2-minute silence.  They do everyone a lot of credit.  Well done!
