Walking the sands to Holy Island

23rd June 2023
We had an amazing day today, following the Pilgrim's poles across the sands to Holy Island. This is our biennial school tradition inspired by our vision of 'Journeying Together'. There was also lots of mud, small creatures, seaweed, slime, shells and, of course, sand!

We were joined by our govenors and friends of the school, Bishop Mark (the Bishop of Berwick) and Paul Rickeard (the Director of Education at the diocese). We were very lucky with the weather which stayed warm and dry enough and also with the seal song which was incredible to listen to as we went along. The children were resilient and enthused for the whole walk and we are rightly very proud of them all.
